Who we are and what we do?

Shatterproof are a group of people, some with special needs , that work to produce original material in many mediums including Drama, Dance and Film.

We have been performing since 1984, including works commissioned by Leeds City Council to celebrate 33 years of carers for special needs people in Leeds.

We are open to anyone regardless of age, background or ability. This makes us a very diverse but very dynamic theatre company.

Where do we meet ?
What do we do ?

Our sessions are held every Monday at the Carriageworks Theatre, Millennium Square in the centre of Leeds. Our sessions run from 7.00 to 9.00 pm. We do not close during holiday periods apart from August .

Our sessions include improvisation, mime, stage technique, voice work and movement.

There is also a big helping of fun exercises designed to make you feel part of the team and hopefully, make your evening worth while.

If you don’t think you’ll like acting then
Shatterproof may still be the place for you. “Backstage” people play a major role in our work.

Wanted: Actors and Actresses to take a variety of roles in our next production.
